Tufting le sud.

BASED ON THE PHOTOGRAPHIES OF
MARIE DEVINE.

Having been born and raised in the South of France, I always have been surrounded by beautiful environment and landscapes. With the pho- tographer Marie Devine, we wanted to translate these colours and textures into our work. Her photographs of a model standing next to the Mediterranean Sea got me inspired to create a tufting pieces.

This first tufted piece is a 6 meters rug that is inspired by a series of photographs of Marie Devine, in which a model is standing on the coastline. The organic shapes and silhouettes of rocky coastlines have inspired me to explore fluid and unconventional forms in my design.
The photographs of a model standing by the sea have ignited a surge of inspiration within me, wanting to create something beyond the realm of the visual and create a tactile experience. The tufted fibers are intertwining to form a tactile landscape, telling a story of movement and connection.

The colors of the sea and sky, captured in those photographs, will guide my palette, infusing the piece with the tranquil hues of blues and grays. The texture of the tufting is echoing the ripples on the water's surface but also the roughness of the rocks.
Ceramic pieces were also created in the colour of the dress of the model to complete the scene.
