One mould, infinite possibilities.
Ceramics are used in our daily life, without realizing how different one object can look.
I wanted to discover and play with ceramics, without thinking about how it would look: get surprised by the material and see what can happen - there are no mistakes !
The earliest ceramics made by humans were small sculptures and pottery objects. Later, they were glazed and fired to create smooth, colored surfaces. I decided to make pots using different types of clay, fired at different temperatures and with different glazes, but all coming out of one mould. Each pot has a letter and a number referring to the number of experimentation with that type of clay (p for porcelain, s for stoneware and e for earthenware), as well as the highest temperature to which it has been fired.
The same shape looks totally different with each try out: colors, textures, thickness, height, shrinkage, glossiness… This way I was able to play with different out comes and even stack the pots on top of each other. The form can also be cut into different parts, which allows even more staking with the same type of clay. There are a lot of possibilities to play with it.
